Bubble Bath

January can be a loooong month. It’s cold, dark, and you can feel stuck inside, especially if you’re a stay-at-home parent.  Playing in water can be very soothing to a child, and makes for a fun morning or afternoon!  And when the kids take a nap or go to bed for the night, don’t forget to treat yourself to a nice relaxing bubble bath too!

Making Homemade Soap with Kids

I used to make my own soap before I had kids. I used lye and that was a little scary since when you add it to cold water, it heats up to boiling temperatures almost immediately!  Now that my kids are a little older, I’ve been wanting to try it again, but worried about using lye. Here’s a link to a site that does not use lye, but you do need to buy a “Pour and Melt Soap Base” to get started.  It also reduces the need of having to buy all the soap making equipment!

I found some soap on Amazon, and now I’m excited to try this with my kids!  Will post pictures when we make our soap.
